6-Balinese Cat:
The Balinese cat is a unique breed that shares all the special qualities of the Siamese but with a fluffier coat. With a lifespan of 15-20 years and a weight range of 8-15 pounds, the Balinese is a relatively slim and delicate feline. Available in a variety of colors such as white, orange, blue, tan, chocolate, fawn, and lilac, these cats are great conversationalists and love to chat away with their human companions. However, they are known for their early morning breakfast calls, so beware! As intelligent and engaging cats, the Balinese requires plenty of attention and stimulation to keep them out of trouble. They do best in households with lots of human interaction and when provided with plenty of enriching toys.

The Persian is an extremely intelligent breed of cat known for its long hair, rounded face, and friendly (yet calm) demeanor. Believed to have originated in Iran, the first Persians appeared in the Western World around 1620. It wasn’t until the late 1800s, however, that the Persian became a popular choice for households (becoming the second most popular cat for American households as of 2001).
Persians are incredibly gentle; a characteristic tied to their overly sensitive and cautious nature. Despite their shyness, however, the Persian is quite affectionate towards its owners, and “loves to be held and coddled” (bengalcats.co). For this reason, the Persian is a perfect choice for families with children, as the cat loves human interaction and attention.
Apart from their beautiful appearance, the Persian is also highly intelligent and can be trained to respond to various commands, including “no” and “come here” (bengalcats.co). Due to their attentiveness, the breed is also highly responsive to human words, and is capable of “understanding sound association” (bengalcats.co). For these reasons, the Persian makes for an excellent addition to nearly any home.
4-Scottish Fold Cat:
Introducing the adorable Scottish Fold breed! These furry friends first emerged in the US in the ’60s and quickly became popular due to their unique folded ears that give them a teddy-bear appearance. Scottish Folds are not only cute, but they are also emotionally intelligent and very intuitive of human emotion and mood. With their smarts, they are often seen studying their surroundings and engaging with media such as TV and radio. This breed is also very human-centric, making them perfect companions for those in homes where someone is often present. While mostly indifferent to other pets, Scottish Folds can form strong bonds over time. With a lifespan of 11-14 years and weighing between 6-13 pounds, these furry friends are sure to be by your side for many adventures.
